LNP’S LATEST UPDATES ON THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIME

 Probes Two Men for Illegal Possession and Transportation of weapons

LIBERIA – The Anti-Robbery Section of the Liberia National Police has arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in the transportation and possession of ten single-barrel long-range and ten single-barrel short guns, fifty single-barrel rounds, and twelve grosses of cigarettes.

Suspects David S. Manyango, 26, driver of a Green Nissan Almera Sedan with plate #0413, and a businessman, identified as Morgan Palay, 44 yrs and resident of Greenville, Sinoe County were arrested at the Careysburg Checkpoint on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2 A.M. while in route to Monrovia.

The two suspects are presently undergoing investigation at the Headquarters of the Liberia National.

LNP Investigates Two for Shooting Incident leading to Injury

The Liberia National Police is investigating the circumstances of a shooting incident that led to the injury of a Liberian, Mohammed Kamara, 30 years, who is currently undergoing treatment at the John F. Kennedy hospital.

George Kialondo Jr. was picked up by Police on October 7, 2022, in connection to the shooting incident that left one person severely injured at the B.& J luxury limited located on Carey Street.

Two other suspects, Bongary Khalil and another only identified as Bryant are all on the run since the incident took place on Buchanan Street in Central Monrovia.

The public can be assured that this shooting incident will be duly investigated and all those responsible will be made to face the full weight of the law.

All members of the public who have useful information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects on the run are asked to assist us and any information supplied will be treated with a high degree of confidentiality.

LNP Arrests Man, 25, for Allegedly raping a 5-Year-Old Minor

A 25-year-old man identified as Emmanuel Brooks, a resident of Yelequolleh District, Bong County is said to be undergoing a Police probe for allegedly sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl.

He was arrested on October 17, 2022, based on the Complaint filed by the victim’s mother who alleged that her husband sent Ten Thousand Liberian Dollars to her by suspect  Brooks to purchase spare parts.

According to preliminary findings, the victim was allegedly raped in the room of the suspect after he pretended going into his room for rice where the victim was placed asleep.

The victim has been sent to Phebe Hospital for a medical checkup while suspect Emmanuel Brooks is detained at the Bong County Police Detachment headquarters undergoing investigation.

LNP Arrests Man for Allegedly Killing his Wife for 500 Liberian Dollars

The Bong County Police Detachment has arrested a man identified as Kokulo Kpaquea for allegedly killing his wife on their farm.

Suspect Kpaquea, a resident of God Farm Community, Gbarnga Bong County was arrested on October 18, 2022, when he allegedly chopped his wife several times on her neck and back which resulted in death because she refused to give him five hundred Liberian dollars.

According to police preliminary investigation, suspect  Kpaquea and his wife identified as Nowai Yakpawollo adult went to the farm on October 18, 2022, where he allegedly killed her on grounds that he gave her money to keep but always refuses to give him money each time he asks her.

Meanwhile, suspect Kokulo Kpaquea is presently detained at the  Bong County Police Detachment Headquarters undergoing investigation.

In a related development, the Maryland County Police Detachment has also arrested a 35-year-old woman identified as Josephine Darbel, resident of Zone 2, Pleebo City, Maryland County for allegedly killing her husband.

Suspect Josephine Darbel was arrested on October 17, 2022, when she allegedly grabbed and squeezed her husband, Nathaniel William’s private part during a fistfight which resulted in his demise.

During the police preliminary investigation, suspect Josephine Darbel admitted holding and squeezing her husband’s private part during an argument between them that resulted in a fistfight.

Meanwhile, she is currently detained and awaiting Court trial.
