MONROVIA, LIBERIA – As Liberian Muslims embark on the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation (MKNK-F) has extended a message of peace and goodwill while delivering 40 bags of rice to support the observance of the sacred period.
In a press statement released on Saturday, March 1, 2025, and signed by exiled Liberian activist and Foundation founder Martin K. N. Kollie, the organization emphasized the importance of sharing and community support during Ramadan. The statement conveyed best wishes to Muslims in Liberia and beyond as they begin a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection.
The Foundation’s donation included 25-kilogram bags of rice distributed to two mosques and elderly residents. The Benson Street Mosque in Monrovia and the Black Gina Mosque in Jacob Town each received 15 bags, while 10 bags were given to older individuals in the Vai Town and Clara Town areas.
According to Kollie, the contribution reflects the Foundation’s desire to stand in solidarity with Muslims as they observe this spiritual tradition. He described the donation as a small but meaningful gesture to show compassion and support during the fasting period.
“As Ramadan begins, we wish our Muslim brothers and sisters peace, love, and prosperity. It is a privilege for the Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation to share with others during this significant time,” Kollie said in the statement.
The Foundation, known for its humanitarian issue, has consistently provided aid to vulnerable groups in Liberia. This latest initiative aligns with its ongoing efforts to promote kindness and community engagement.
