MONTSERRADO GRAND JURY INDICTS MAN FOR FATAL STABBING OF GIRLFRIEND IN DUPORT ROAD TRAGEDY

MONROVIA – The Grand Jury of Montserrado County has formally indicted 38-year-old Bill Jallah for the brutal killing of his girlfriend, Princess Zuo Wesseh, in a case that has gripped public attention since late December 2024. Jallah now faces charges of Murder, Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, and Aggravated Assault, following a series of violent events that culminated in the fatal stabbing.

According to the indictment, Jallah acted with intent and malice on December 21, 2024, when he attacked Wesseh in the Duport Road area of Paynesville. Investigators say the accused concealed a knife under his clothes and confronted the victim after a tense meeting at the entertainment venue Fast Nikel near Kool FM Radio Station. The encounter, reportedly arranged by Wesseh to address concerns about Jallah’s behavior, escalated into a violent argument.

Witnesses told police that Jallah became enraged during the confrontation, particularly when Wesseh referenced prior complaints she had made to his family. Matters worsened when he accused her of not informing him of her whereabouts the previous Friday. When Wesseh attempted to leave, Jallah allegedly followed and blocked her path before launching a deadly attack.

Wesseh suffered multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. She was rushed by bystanders to ELWA Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police at the scene recovered the knife believed to have been used in the assault, and during subsequent questioning, Jallah reportedly confessed to the crime. However, he has since contested aspects of the investigation, claiming he only had meat skewers from a previous purchase, not a concealed weapon.

Also injured during the attack was Jallah’s sister, Kormassa Jallah, who attempted to intervene. She sustained stab wounds to her arm and is recovering in a local hospital. Her testimony is expected to be central to the prosecution’s case.

Before the fatal incident, Wesseh had reported feeling threatened by Jallah. On the day of her death, she had called his father, William Jallah, for help after Jallah made two uninvited visits to her workplace, disturbing her.

The case, initially brought before the Monrovia City Court on December 27, 2024, was scheduled for hearing on May 15, 2025. However, defense attorneys requested a continuance to review the case file.

Jallah is charged under Sections 14.1 and 14.20 of the Liberia Penal Code, relating to murder and aggravated assault. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment. The Liberia National Police maintain that the evidence against Jallah, including eyewitness statements, forensic analysis, and his own admissions, strongly supports the charges.
