MURDERED 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL’S PARENTS DEMAND JUSTICE – SAY THEY’RE DISAPPOINTED IN POLICE

Date:

LIBERIA – The parents of a 15-Year-old girl who was founded dead on the 26th, of December 2022 at Peace Island Community, Mount Barclay, Montserrado County are demanding the Liberian National Police carry on a full-scale investigation into their daughter’s death.

According to a report by Smart News Liberia, Saybah Harmon left her home around 6 pm to 7 pm on the date mentioned above to pick up a chargeable light nearby but did not return. The situation triggered her parents’ concern to immediately search the entire community until the next morning when her lifeless body was discovered lying near the bush in the same community.

Saybah’s mysterious death caught the Liberia National Police’s attention after it was reported by the parents, which prompted the police to launch an investigation. The police investigation was welcomed by the deceased’s parents.

The deceased parent told our reporter, “The LNP investigation is the beginning of showing justice for our daughter, Saybah.”

But, according to Mr. and Mrs. Harmon, since the LNP investigation, they have not yet gotten the consequences of their daughter’s death, instead, they were told by the LNP to sign for their daughter’s dead body for burial.

The 15-year-old deceased’s parents are calling on civil society actors, human rights organizations, as well as other well-meaning Liberians to join them in demanding justice for their late daughter who was allegedly murdered by unknown individuals.
