NATION LIGHT SECURES FIRST WIN…

Nation Light on March 21, 2023, secured its first win in a much-anticipated “Mass League,” under the supervision of the Central Monrovia Subcommittee of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) taking place at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Central Monrovia.

The match was the official kickoff of the 17-team competition with two groups, A and B.

In group A, match day one, two exciting fixtures were played, Brewerville-based side, in the early kicked-off, Nation Light beat Baby Eagle 1-0 in a mouth-watering encounter.

The green and white of Baby Eagle who enjoyed possessions in the first half failed to capitalize on an early penalty awarded to them following a stubble played in the six-yard box of their opponent, but the resilience of Nation Light through their shot-stopper, Jeremiah Targbie who also received the Most Valuable Player of the match for his splendid displayed in goal.

After several wasted changes by both sides, skipper Saidou Jalloh of Nation Light broke the deadlock in the 26 minutes through a penalty strike…

In the day’s last fixture, both Clay Street Professional and Junior FC settled to an entertaining 1-1 draw; the result means Nation Light lead both groups, A and B with 3 points and 1 goal in the four zones competition.

Four groups in Montserrado County will gain qualification to the Third Division League under the LFA that played at the various sub-committee.

The competition will continue this weekend with more exciting fixtures.
