MONROVIA – The newly appointed Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitzgerald Biago, has declared an uncompromising war on drug trafficking and abuse, stressing that his leadership will prioritize discipline, accountability, and professionalism.
At a high-level meeting with all operational and administrative heads of the Agency, DCP Biago outlined his vision and vowed that under his command, the LDEA will pursue traffickers and abusers with precision. Flanked by his deputies, he expressed gratitude to President Joseph N. Boakai for entrusting him with the responsibility to lead the country’s fight against the drug menace.
“My administration will execute its mandate without fear or favor. Loyalty to duty and adherence to procedures will not be compromised,” Biago said firmly.
In a strong warning to officers under his command, the Officer-in-Charge declared that no act of indiscipline, insubordination, or sabotage will be entertained. He cautioned that any officer who violates established administrative procedures will face immediate and decisive consequences.
As part of enforcing discipline, Biago directed that all operational heads sign a confidentiality code, warning that those caught leaking sensitive information will face severe sanctions. He emphasized that confidentiality and loyalty are indispensable to the Agency’s effectiveness.
“Any officer who undermines this Agency by leaking sensitive information will be held personally accountable. Such actions will not go unpunished,” he stressed.
The Officer-in-Charge further mandated strict adherence to time consciousness, professionalism, and accuracy in the discharge of duties. He condemned the circulation of misinformation within the LDEA, describing it as a “virus” that undermines operational output and threatens national security.
Assuring the public of a renewed and aggressive approach, Biago reaffirmed his commitment to wage the war on drugs without compromise. “Despite the challenges, the LDEA under my command will stand firm, enforce the law, and pursue traffickers and abusers until the menace of drugs is defeated,” he declared.
