MONROVIA – The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), with support from the West Africa Health Organization (WAHO), has stepped up a nationwide Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) campaign aimed at curbing the spread of Mpox.
The campaign is designed to increase public awareness, promote preventive behaviors, and strengthen community involvement in the national response to the disease. It is currently being carried out in Montserrado, Margibi, Nimba, and Grand Cape Mount Counties, where health authorities are focusing on high-risk communities and populations.
NPHIL and its partners are using community dialogues, media engagement, and the distribution of information materials to boost public understanding of Mpox transmission, symptoms, and available prevention methods.
The intensified awareness campaign comes at a time when health authorities are prioritizing early detection and community cooperation as critical tools in preventing the further spread of Mpox in Liberia.
