H. E. Dr. George Manneh Weah

PRESIDENT

Republic of Liberia

Executive Mansion

Capitol Hill

Monrovia, Liberia

Mr. President:

On behalf of the great people of River Cess, we would like to begin by extolling your leadership for the development intervention in our beloved county. Mr. President, under your leadership, the streets of Cestos City are being paved for the first time. Your government reconstructed the Timbo Bridge which serves as a boundary between Grand Bassa and River Cess, connecting the Southeast. By the way, citizens lost their lives, and economic activities ruined when the bridge became so deplorable. Under the CDC-led government, our county now boasts of a state-of-the-art judicial complex and a new magisterial court, with a new market structure and two high schools under construction. It’s during your administration that River Cess now has a referral hospital that caters to the health needs of citizens in River Cess and the Southeast. We want to borrow from Senator Edwin Snowe by saying River Cess will make you happy in 2023 if you continue on this path of development. Thank you plenty.

Your Excellency, I write purposely to remind you of a promise made to scholar Martina Fanciah, a senior student then of the Cestos High School who brilliantly read a statement on behalf of the youth and student community at the Cestos City Hall during your County Tour in River Cess. Been impressed by the eloquence in her presentation, you mounted the podium and awarded a scholarship to her up to the Master’s level. It’s nearly two years since the scholarship offer was announced. The student reached out to me recently informing that she’s yet to enjoy the benefits of the scholarship following series of follow-ups. I assume the person responsible for scholarships in your office has forgotten about your promise to Martina, thus necessitating this reminder.

Let it also be known that the student sat and passed Cuttington University’s undergraduate placement exams, and is only awaiting enrollment.

Considering the huge number of local and international scholarships provided to Liberian students by you over the years, I’m confident Martina will start school soon.

Please accept, Mr. President, assurances of my highest esteem.

Yours Sincerely,

Trokon A. Freeman

Eminent Citizen

River Cess County
