HARPER, LIBERIA – August 14, 2024: Partners In Health (PIH) Liberia has made a notable contribution to William V.S. Tubman University, symbolizing its commitment to the advancement of health education in the country. On August 14, 2024, PIH Liberia’s Executive Director presented a brand-new high-top 4-wheeler Land Cruiser Jeep to the university. The vehicle is designated for use by the College of Health Sciences, marking the first donation of its kind from the organization.

The donation was formally handed over in a brief but impactful ceremony held on Tubman University’s campus. The president of the university Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, representing the university, accepted the donation with great appreciation.

In his remarks, Dr. Menjay expressed deep gratitude for the generosity and steadfast support of Partners In Health. He highlighted the importance of reliable transportation in the effective delivery of health education and services, particularly in reaching remote areas.

“This donation is more than just a vehicle; it’s a lifeline that will enable our College of Health Sciences to expand its reach and impact,” Dr. Menjay said. “We are deeply thankful to Partners In Health for their partnership and for sharing our vision of improving health outcomes through education.”

The Land Cruiser Jeep is expected to significantly enhance the College of Health Sciences’ capacity to conduct fieldwork, provide community outreach, and offer practical training for students. This will ultimately contribute to Tubman University’s mission of developing the next generation of healthcare professionals in Liberia.

This donation marks the continuation of a strong partnership between Partners In Health and Tubman University, with both institutions dedicated to advancing healthcare and education in the region. PIH Liberia has pledged ongoing support to the university, reinforcing their shared commitment to improving health outcomes through education.
