The Liberia National Police have announced the arrest of seven persons in connection with the July 26 Independence Day bloody attack on university students.
Pro-government thugs-the CDC-COP on Independence Day violently attack members of the University of Liberia campus-based Student Unification Party (SUP) in a counter-protest.
SUP members were protesting in front of the United States Embassy to pressure President George Weah to arrest his officials who were indicted by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission before they were attacked in a so-called counter-protest.
Those arrested in connection with violence are Kendrick S. Pelenah, 30; Joshua S. Karr, 28; Pukar Roberts, 36; Ben B. Togbah, 25; Foday N. Massaquoi, 23; Aaron K. Chea, 26 and Abdurahman Barrie.
The Police said it has also launched a manhunt for the remaining individuals and will shortly solicit the assistance of the public by releasing the names and photographs of the wanted persons.
Meanwhile, Police say it is still conducting a professional standards probe of its own officers that were in charge of security for the July 26 celebration and were said to be on the scene of the violence but did nothing to stop it.
