POLISH GOVERNMENT BANS GRAIN AND FOOD IMPORTS FROM UKRAINE

Date:

To protect Poland’s agricultural sector, Jaroslaw Kacynski, leader of the Law and Justice Party, the ruling party, announced on Saturday (15 April) that the Polish government had decided to ban the import of grain and food products from Ukraine.

Despite logistical problems, large quantities of Ukrainian grain, which is cheaper than that produced in the European Union has ended up in Central European countries, affecting prices and sales.

It has caused a problem for the PiS during an election year.

Kaczynski stated this during the PiS convention.

He added that the list of goods would be included in government regulations. “There are many, many products from grain to honey,” he said.

“We remain friends and allies with Ukraine. We will continue to support her. … Kaczynski stated that it was the duty of each state, authority and good authority to protect its citizens’ interests.

Kaczynski stated that Poland was prepared to begin talks with Ukraine in order to resolve the grain issue. The Ukrainian side has already been informed of the Polish government’s decisions. Source: eureporter.co
