PRES. WEAH APPLAUDS TURKIYE ON NATIONAL DAY OBSERVANCE

Date:

Liberian President, Dr. George Manneh Weah, has conveyed a message of congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Turkiye on the occasion marking the celebration of the National Day of that country.

In the message to Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkiye, President Weah extended sincere felicitations on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and in his own name.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader also lauded Turkiye’s towering stance and role in finding an amicable resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.

“Mr. President, the prominent role you are playing has led to Ukraine shipping vital grains, which has tremendously averted food scarcity in the world,” President Weah told his Turkish counterpart.

President Weah further expressed confidence that as the people of Turkiye commemorate this great day amidst the global and economic challenges as well as the prevailing war in Ukraine, the strong bonds of friendship subsisting between Liberia and Turkiye, will continue to be enhanced and expanded to include new areas of interest in mining, trade and commerce as well as other key sectors.

President Weah further appreciated the Government and people of Turkiye for supporting the aspirations of the Liberian people in critical areas such as health, education, agriculture, and capacity building.

He then looks forward to a more sustained partnership in the years ahead and wished for President Erdogan’s personal well-being and for the people of Turkiye’s continual peace and prosperity. LINA
