PRESIDENT WEAH HAILS LIBERIA’S MUSLIM COMMUNITY FOR CONFIDENCE THEY CONTINUE TO REPOSE IN HIM

Date:

MONROVIA – The President of the Republic and Standard-bearer of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), President George Manneh Weah, has hailed the Muslim Community of Liberia for the confidence they continue to repose in him as evidenced not only by the reaffirmation of their support to his reelection but also their demonstration of sustained love always shown him as their son and one of their kinds.

The Union of Liberian Muslims, a conglomerate of Mandingoes and Fulas, Sunday, November 5, 2023, endorsed President Weah at a colorful program held at the Headquarters of the National Development Party (NDP) in Jacob Town.

According to the Liberian Muslims,  the decision is based on the enormous development initiatives President Weah undertook in his six-year term which they said all Liberians, including them, prefer to be continued to make Liberia an oasis of modernity.

Addressing thousands of endorsers comprising of varying age groups of Muslims, President Weah described the endorsement as an expression of vote of confidence in his leadership to continue the excellent work he started.

He informed the crowd of his government’s numerous achievements in the improvement of education, health, and the economy, stressing that these milestones will be elevated to other levels in his second term.

He said his relationship with the Muslims Community comes a long way, attributing it to the reason he continues to enjoy unprecedented Muslims support during past elections he participated him, such as in 2005, 2011 and 2017.

The President boasted of his leadership style of openness to all demographic groups, including Muslims, something that portrays the kind of Liberia he envisages—a place where everyone is important and given the space to harness their potentials.

The CDC Standard-bearer also spoke of his relationship with the All Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP), saying it was founded as an extension of the CDC to create an equal platform of equity and opportunity for all Liberians.

The endorsement program was witnessed by an array of opinion leaders of the Liberian Muslims community as well as executives of the ruling CDC and the Campaign Committee. Source: emansion.gov.lr
