PUL LOFA CHAPTER MOURNS THE LOSS OF JOURNALIST JOSEPH NGAIFUA KOLLIE

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL), represented by its Lofa County chapter, expresses profound sadness over the passing of it member Journalist Joseph Ngaifua Kollie.

On Monday, January 1, 2024, health workers at the John F. Kennedy Hospital in Monrovia confirmed the unfortunate demise of Joseph Ngaifua Kollie, following a motor accident he was involved in on December 20, 2023, in Voinjama City. Initially admitted to the Telewoyan Memorial Hospital, he was later transferred to the John F. Kennedy Hospital for further medical care, where, despite extensive efforts by healthcare professionals, his life could not be saved.

Joseph Ngaifua Kollie served diligently in various capacities, including as a Reporter, Finance Officer, and Director of Programs at Harleyngee Community Radio in the Gbandi Chiefdom. He also held positions as a correspondent for Fortune TV in lower Lofa and as Deputy Communication Director at the Lofa County University (LCU).

The Press Union of Liberia, through its Lofa Chapter, extends heartfelt condolences to his family and the entire media community in Lofa County and Liberia.

Known for his amiable nature, Joseph Kollie was deeply dedicated to his profession, serving as a beacon of inspiration for numerous young individuals at Radio Harleyngee and other radio stations across the County. He was always eager to make substantial contributions to media institutions within and beyond Lofa County.

Starting on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:30 AM, a book of condolence will be available for signing at various locations: PUL headquarters in Monrovia, Radio Kintoma in Voinjama City, Radio Life in Zorzor City, Radio Harleyngee in Koiba City, and Radio Tambatikor in Foya City. The PUL members, other media organizations, local and national leaders, and the public are invited to these locations to pay their final respects to our esteemed colleague.

The remains of Joseph Ngaifua Kollie will be transported to Kolahun in Lofa County on January 4-5, 2024. A wake will be held on Friday in Kolahun, followed by a funeral service and burial on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
