POWER OF TRANSFORMATION MINISTRIES LAUNCHED

Date:

LIBERIA – The Senior Pastor of the Cavalry Temple Assembly of God Church located in Jacob Town, Paynesville, Rev. Dr. James Z. Kapel, Jr. has launched a faith-based organization known as the Power of Transformation Ministries International (POTRAMIN), with a pledge to build new generational leaders and expand the thinking capacities of men and women from a positive perspective.

Giving an abridgment of the organization, Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the Cavalry Temple A.G. Church in Jacob Town Paynesville, where the official launching ceremony took place, the Liberian cleric said the Power of Transformation Ministries International was established in November 2015 by him, along with his wife, Mother Kapel, following his return from a leadership training series in Singapore, Ghana, and South Africa, respectively.

He said in 2022, the Lord re-enforced the burden upon him and his wife for such a brilliant idea to be translated into reality by having it formally launched.

According to Rev. Dr. Kapel, the Power of Transformation Ministries International is intended to fulfill God’s purpose by impacting the lives of Liberians and others across the world.

Besides, he disclosed that POTRAMIN will focus on building new generational leaders and increase the thinking capacities of men and women from a positive perspective.

The Power of Transformation Ministries International, according to its vision bearer is built around five fundamental values; including integrity, quality services, hard work, relationship, etc.

On the eve of the launching ceremony, Rev. Kapel conducted a one-day leadership and counseling workshop at the Cavalry Temple A. G. Church, about the importance of Christian Mental Health, highlighting key issues such as stress, depression, ways to maintain positive mental health, etc. The one-day workshop drew scores of participants, predominately women.

Delivering the sermon at the program, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church Liberia (AGL), Rev. Dr. Abenda F. Tamba, called on the church to now see a reason to expand its activities to other segments of the Liberian society, especially those residing in places like ghettos, graveyards, etc.

Rev. Dr. Tamba said unless the church takes its activities out there to help transform the minds of those who seem to be rejected by society, the concept of soul-winning may be a failure.

The Liberian cleric called on the church to learn from the great deeds of Jesus Christ who took the risk and challenge to sit and eat with tax collectors and others, as a means of redeeming them from sins to grace through the Gospel.

He said the majority of those who make decisions for the country at the ballot box are young people. Against such backdrop, he said if the church does not get actively involved in transforming the minds and lives of such people, the Liberian society may be plagued with bad leadership arising from poor decisions through the ballot box.

The AGL General Superintendent said gone are the days when the affairs of the state was considered as the people’s thing and that the church had nothing to do with issues of governance.

According to Rev. Dr. Tamba, it is now time for the church to stand up against issues that continue to becloud good leadership and governance in Liberia.

He called on the congregation of God, particularly members of the Assemblies of God Liberia to ensure that some of the resources available to the church are used to improve the conditions of others in society, making references to the hospitals, prison centers, etc

He hailed Rev. Dr. and Mother Kapel for their decision to establish the Power of Transformation Ministries International.

During the program, the Senior Pastor of the First Assembly of God Church on Buchanan Street, Monrovia, Liberia, Rev. Dr. Edwind A. Gbelly, and his wife were honored for many years of remarkable services to the Kingdom of God and for their role in the spiritual upbringing of the vision bearer of POTRAMIN, Rev. Dr. James Z. Kapel, Jr.
