RULING PARTY APPLAUDS LIBERIANS FOR HUGE TURNOUT AT ITS 7 SEPTEMBER CAMPAIGN LAUNCH

Date:

MONROVIA – The ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) of incumbent President George Weah, has applauded Liberians for the huge turnout at the party’s 7 September 2023 campaign launch.

A statement issued in Monrovia by the CDC National Campaign Team quotes National Campaign Manager Lenn Eugene Nagbe as stating that the Weah-Taylor 2023 National Victory Campaign extends its thanks and gratitude to the multitude of its partisans, first-time voters, auxiliaries, supporters, and well-wishers who enthusiastically and energetically came out en masse on September 7, 2023, to participate in the formal launch of the ruling party’s 1-Round National Victory campaign in Montserrado and concomitantly across the rest of the 14 counties of Liberia.

The Weah-Taylor 2023 National Victory Campaign is of the conviction that such a massive show of support from its partisans, auxiliaries, and well-wishers is emblematic of the deep and wide-ranging impact of the developmental policies of President Weah since his incumbency, the statement emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Weah-Taylor 2023 National Victory Campaign has cautioned all its partisans, auxiliaries, and supporters to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and respectful of all laws but particularly of regulations emanating from the National Elections Commission (NEC).

In this regard, according to the statement, the Weah-Taylor 2023 National Victory Campaign has suspended public campaigning in Montserrado County on September 17, 2023, in recognition of the fact that the Unity Party will be launching its national campaign.

“This move is intended to avoid violence, enhance political coexistence, and remain [within] the confines of the Farmington Declaration, the National Elections Law, and the laws of the Republic,” the statement pointed out.

The Weah-Taylor 2023 National Victory Campaign also announced the cancelation of an unauthorized concert organized by one of the party’s auxiliaries, which was scheduled for September 17, 2023, indicating that the concert will be rescheduled to a later date in keeping with its calendar of activities as approved by NEC.

“The Weah-Taylor 2023 National Victory Campaign of the Coalition for Democratic Change therefore mandates all partisans, auxiliaries, supporters, and well-wishers to refrain from organizing public political activities or gatherings within Montserrado County on September 17, 2023,” the statement maintained.
