SEASON’S GREETINGS FROM FECCIWA

Date:

As the year draws to a close, it is with great pleasure that the FECCIWA Advisory Committee and the Secretariat extend our heartfelt wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to our members, partners, and friends.

The leadership is deeply grateful for your steadfast and passionate support in the efforts to revitalise FECCIWA and to develop the Fellowship into a force and voice of the Christian Community in the West Africa sub-region.

Despite the numerous challenges facing [he leadership and the Secretariat in our efforts to resuscitate FRECCIWA, we have together, made significant progress in this direction with your support andprayers.

Our achievements, though may appear to be modest, have significantly moved us towards our goal of reviving FECCIWA. With your support and prayers, we have achieved the following:

  • A functioning Advisory Committee that has met on a fairly regular basis to discuss and review plans for the revival of FECCIWA.
  • A functioning Secretariat operating on a very limited budget, but with a dedicated staff working on a voluntary basis;
  • An approved action plan, albeit very short term, which has guided the activities of both the Secretariat and the Advisory Committee;
  • The representation of FECCIWA at the recent concluded centenary celebrations of the

Christian Council of Sierra Leone;

  • The opening of a bank account for FECCIWA;
  • The submission of letters and project proposals to both past and potential partners soliciting support for the Fellowship;
  • And finally, a date has been agreed for the holding ofthe next Annual General assembly in April, 2025.

All the above have been achieved with very limited resources in terms of both finance and resources, but with your goodwill and prayers. Thank you!!

As we begin the new year, my prayer is that more would be achieved by you the members through your dedication, and most importantly, your prayers. I also would like to take this opportunity to thank our members who have contributed to the revival efforts with advice, time and material resources. I wish to appeal to all members to continue in your prayers and support, both financially and in kind, towards the resuscitation efforts.

During this holiday season, we wish you God’s blessings and a reflective time with your families and loved ones. May it be a season filled with warmth, joy, and renewed purpose as we enter the New Year with optimism and conviction. Let us continue to sow seeds ofhope, double our efforts in resurrecting FECCIWA and to work in unity as we cultivate the dry lands for the revival of FECCIWA.

As we conclude, we share with you the words of Nehemiah that the Joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh. 8:10) and He has called us to rebuild the ‘walls’ of FECCIWA – (Neh. 2:18). The Lord be with us all. Let us remember the words of this popular song by Pete Seeger:

Together We shall overcome We shall overcome

We shall overcome someday.
