SEVERAL RECEIVE GLOBAL NEWS NETWORK 2022 AWARDS

LIBERIA – The occasion was colorful at the conference hall of the YMCA in central Monrovia when the management of the Global News Network Incorporated (GNN), publisher of one of Liberia’s most informative news platforms held its 10th annual awards program.

According to GNN management, the program is aimed at appreciating individuals and institutions for their hard work during the year 2022.

Twenty-three prominent individuals and institutions received several categories of awards, amongst them were the United States Ambassador to Liberia, H.E. Michael McCarthy as Man of the Year, and the head of a local NGO, Mrs. Brenda Moore as Woman of the year 2022.

During the presentation of the awards, the Chief Executive Officer of Global News Network Incorporated (GNN), Joel Cholo Brooks urged recipients to add more to their respective contributions to the democratic growth of Liberia in the coming years.

Mr. Brooks further noted that the honor being bestowed upon them today is a result of their respective advocacies during the year 2022 for a better Liberia free of those ills that are inimical in the growth and development of Africa’s oldest republic, and urged them to be ambassadors for Liberia in the year ahead.

Receiving the Award on behalf of the United States Ambassador to Liberia, the Public Affairs Officer at the embassy, Sade Tuckett thanked the management of GNN for the award and further said upon the return of Ambassador McCarthy from his break the award will officially be delivered.

Brigadier General Geraldine Janet George; Female Security Expert of the year, Ecobank Liberia Limited; Bank of the year, Mr. Adama Dempster; Rights Advocate of the Year, Mr. Anderson Miamen; Accountability Campaigner of the Year.

Bishop S. Oliver Kpaan, Jr.; Cleric of the year, Mr. Julius Jeh; Humanitarian of the Year, Madam Emma Metieh Glassco; Director General of the year, Mr. Richmond Nagbe Tobii; Chief Executive Officer of the Year, Mr. Trokon Nathaniel Robert; Male Security Expert of the year, Center for Media Studies and Peacebuilding (CEMESP); NGO of the year, Internews – Liberia; INGO of the year, Spoon Network; Media Institution of the year, Judge Eva Mappy Morgan; Academician of the year, Rep. Johnson Gwaikolo; Eminent Statesman of the Year, National Road Fund (NRF); Most Innovative Institution of the Year, Jesse Korboi; Best Public Servant of the Year, and Cooper Kruah; Reformist of the Year.
