FREETOWN – The Election Commission of Sierra Leone says President Maada Bio has taken an early lead in Sierra Leone presidential race.
ECSL says out of 60% of votes counted so far, Bio has obtained 55%. ECSL declared that Dr. Samura Kamara, of the All People’s Congress (APC), has 42%. This is the first set of results since the June 24 elections.
To win the polls, one will have to acquire 55% or more of the total vote to win in the first round.
