SUPREME COURT SUSPENDS CLLR. BROPLEH, ORDERS TRAINING IN CIVIL PROCEDURE LAW

Date:

MONROVIA – The Supreme Court of Liberia has handed a two-month suspension to Cllr. Lawrence Bropleh for professional negligence that negatively impacted his client, Kanu Equipment, represented by its manager, Wayne Frattarolli. The court’s decision, announced on Thursday, December 19, aims to uphold ethical and professional standards within Liberia’s legal community.

Cllr. Bropleh’s suspension stems from conduct deemed detrimental to his client’s interests. As part of the disciplinary measures, the court has directed him to undergo specialized training in civil procedure law at the Judicial Institute. This training is intended to reinforce his understanding of legal processes and ensure adherence to professional expectations.

To confirm compliance, Cllr. Bropleh must present a certificate of completion to the court clerk following the training. The suspension is effective immediately, with the lawyer expected to fulfill all outlined requirements during this period.

In a separate ruling, the Supreme Court issued a peremptory writ of mandamus compelling the leadership of the House of Representatives to pay Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah his June 2021 salary and benefits. The court deemed the House’s refusal to pay as a violation of an earlier mandate and has ordered immediate compliance without further delay or explanation.
