MONROVIA – The Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation (MKNK-F) has announced the sponsorship of 20 Liberians for professional and hands-on training at Gonet Academy, as part of its ongoing efforts to empower citizens through education and skills development. Classes for the newly accepted candidates are set to begin on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the institution’s campus on S.D. Cooper Road in Paynesville.
According to a statement issued by the Foundation, the candidates were vetted and selected based on merit and interest in specific professional areas. Over the course of four months, they will receive instruction in diverse and in-demand fields such as project management, banking and finance, human resources, data analysis, marketing strategy, procurement, and monitoring and evaluation.
This latest cohort brings the Foundation’s 2025 total to 60 sponsored Liberians, underscoring its commitment to advancing education and workforce readiness across the country. The Foundation believes strongly that the lack of opportunities, not ambition, is the real challenge facing most Liberians.
“Our mission at the Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation is to create a just and fair society of shared prosperity and equal opportunity where every Liberian can live a life of dignity, respect, and self-accomplishment,” said Martin K. N. Kollie, the exiled Liberian activist and founder of the Foundation. “We will continue to empower Liberians, especially the youth.”
The 20 accepted trainees are expected to report to the Gonet Academy campus no later than 9:00 a.m. on the start date, bringing with them valid identification for final verification and onboarding procedures.
The MKNK Foundation continues to position itself as a key force in human capacity development, striving to close the opportunity gap for underprivileged Liberians. With a focus on skills-based learning, the Foundation says it aims to not only educate but also equip its beneficiaries to contribute meaningfully to national growth and transformation.
