UNITY PARTY’S AUXILIARY HEADS EXPRESS FRUSTRATION OVER DELAYED APPOINTMENTS

Date:

MONROVIA – Several leaders representing Unity Party (UP) auxiliary groups across different districts in Montserrado County have expressed profound frustration at President Joseph Boakai’s prolonged delay in appointing John Karngbah as the party’s Vice Chairman for Auxiliary Affairs and other auxiliary group heads within the government.

The leaders aired their discontent, emphasizing their growing irritation with the “Rescue Team,” spearheaded by President Boakai, for intentionally prolonging the appointment process for crucial auxiliary roles, including the Vice Chairman for Auxiliary Affairs.

John Karr, head of Todee Redeemed Force to Elect Joseph Nyuma Boakai and Jeremiah Koung as President and Vice President, criticized President Boakai, Vice President Koung, and party Chairman Rev. Luther Tarpeh for disregarding the concerns of auxiliary members.

Various UP auxiliary leaders accused Chairman Tarpeh of deceiving them with false assurances, especially regarding Karngbah’s potential appointment as Monrovia City Mayor. They expressed disillusionment when President Boakai appointed his relative instead, leaving many auxiliary members feeling abandoned.

These leaders contended that Karngbah’s appointment would have created numerous job opportunities for dedicated party supporters who worked tirelessly during the elections. They cautioned that despite feeling exploited by UP officials, they are closely monitoring the situation.

The leaders deplored the predicament of over 9,000 auxiliary members currently without prospects, leading to feelings of shame before those they encouraged to back the UP.

In response to mounting unrest, John Karngbah, UP’s Vice Chairman for Auxiliary Affairs, urged patience among auxiliary members and officials, recognizing the government’s current challenges. He pledged ongoing efforts to secure employment opportunities within ministries, agencies, and the private sector for party supporters.

Karngbah reassured disgruntled UP members that the party is actively striving to ensure their integration and employment within the UP government.
