UNITY PARTY’S QUEEN JOHNSON CALLS FOR DISMISSAL OF MAYOR SIAFA, LABELS HIM CORRUPT AND INCOMPETENT

MONROVIA – Queen Johnson, Deputy Director for Record at the National Port Authority (NPA) and a staunch member of the ruling Unity Party, has launched a scathing attack against Monrovia City Mayor John-Charuk Siafa, calling him corrupt, incompetent, and unfit to lead the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC).

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, during the groundbreaking ceremony of two China-aided overpass bridges on Tubman Boulevard in Monrovia, Johnson delivered her remarks with visible frustration. “Siafa doesn’t know his job. He needs to be dismissed by the President. I will push for his dismissal,” she declared, her voice rising as she accused the mayor of failing the people of Monrovia.

Johnson, popularly known within Unity Party circles as the “Female General,” has built a reputation for making bold statements, even against her own party leadership. Her latest outburst against Mayor Siafa echoes the same tone she used earlier this year when she accused President Joseph Boakai of presiding over an administration riddled with corruption.

On January 22, 2025, during an impromptu press interaction at the Unity Party headquarters, Johnson alleged that the President Joseph Boakai’s appointments of ministers and managing directors were tainted by corruption and mismanagement. “All the ministers and managing directors appointed by Boakai are corrupt,” she asserted at the time, insisting that systemic graft was undermining governance across ministries and state institutions.

Her new accusations against Mayor Siafa have added fuel to growing public debates over the management of the MCC, an institution often criticized for poor waste management, questionable financial practices, and strained relations with its workforce. Johnson’s call for Siafa’s dismissal underscores widening internal cracks within the ruling Unity Party, where some members are becoming increasingly vocal against perceived failures in governance.

The outburst comes as President Boakai faces mounting pressure to demonstrate accountability and discipline within his administration, particularly as corruption allegations and inefficiency claims continue to shadow several state institutions.

Since Queen Johnson’s allegations against Mayor Siafa, the office of the Mayor and the Monrovia City Corporation have not issued any public response to her claims.
