MONROVIA – The University of Liberia (UL) has officially released its draft academic calendar for the first term of 2025, providing students and faculty with a detailed schedule of key activities and important dates.
According to the Office of the Director of Course Schedule, orientation, advisement, and registration for current, returning, and transferred students will run from August 18 to September 20, 2025. During this period, students are expected to complete billing, course enrollment, and payment processes to ensure full registration before classes begin.
Classes for both undergraduate and graduate programs are scheduled to commence on September 15, 2025. The start of the term will follow a series of professional development workshops for faculty at campuses including Capitol Hill, Fendall, the Medical College, and Straz Sinje. These workshops are designed to strengthen teaching and learning across the university’s academic programs.
The calendar also highlights national holidays, including National Flag Day on August 24, Thanksgiving Day on November 6, and the birthday of William V. S. Tubman on November 29. Midterm examinations are slated for October 3 to November 8, while the Christmas and New Year break will run from December 22, 2025, to January 3, 2026. Final examinations are set to begin on January 5, 2026, with freshmen and seniors tested in the first week and sophomores and juniors in the second.
Faculty Senate meetings and academic coordination committee gatherings are incorporated into the schedule to support smooth academic operations. Submission of grades for the term is planned between January 12 and January 24, 2026, with grade reports becoming accessible to students on January 26.
UL officials emphasized that the timely release of the academic calendar is intended to provide students, faculty, and stakeholders with a clear roadmap for the upcoming academic year, reflecting the university’s ongoing commitment to efficiency and excellence in education.
