LIBERIA: GGAA SADDENS OVER THE DEATH OF REP. EROL MADISON GWION

Date:

The Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas (GGAA) is profoundly distressed by the untimely passing of Hon. Erol Madison Gwion, Representative of District #1 in Grand Gedeh County. His unexpected loss is not only deeply felt by the people of Grand Gedeh, but it also sends ripples of sorrow throughout the nation. We mourn the significant void left by Hon. Gwion, an irreplaceable figure in our hearts and in our community.

Hon. Edith Poah, President of GGAA, has expressed grave concern over the recent incidents of vandalism in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh. The offices of the Traditional Council and the residence of Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue have been burned and vandalized, respectfully. “In our period of collective grieving, it is disheartening to see our citizens resort to destructive actions based on unconfirmed allegations,” said Hon. Poah.

The Association fervently appeals to all Grand Gedeh citizens to abstain from engaging in any form of violence. These are indeed challenging times for everyone, and it is important to remember that such actions do not promote peace and tranquility. This unnecessary violence distracts from the solemnity of Rep. Gwion’s passing and projects an unfavorable image of our people to the world. “We implore everyone to take a step back and reflect on the gravity of our shared loss,” urged Hon. Poah.

As we navigate through these painful times, the GGAA extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Rep. Erol Madison Gwion. We plan to make appropriate representation in the coming days to honor his memory. We kindly request everyone to respect the privacy of the bereaved family, allowing them the space and time to mourn their profound loss.

We stand united in our grief and pledge to maintain the peace that Hon. Gwion championed throughout his life. His legacy will continue to inspire us and guide our actions in the days and years to come.

About GGAA:

The Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas (GGAA) is a community organization dedicated to promoting unity, progress, and the welfare of Grand Gedeh County citizens in the Americas and at home. GGAA is committed to fostering peaceful and prosperous communities, both in the U.S. and in Liberia.
