CDC LAWMAKER CRITICIZES BOAKAI ADMINISTRATION FOR UNLAWFUL DISMISSALS

MONROVIA – Alex S. Noah, the representative for Sinoe County’s district #3 in the National Legislature, has voiced strong criticism against the Unity Party-led government under President Joseph N. Boakai. Noah accused the administration of unlawfully dismissing numerous innocent Liberians from various government ministries and agencies without valid reasons.

Speaking on the OK FM afternoon show in Monrovia on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the CDC lawmaker condemned the government’s actions, stating, “It is wrong for a government to take office and immediately begin to dismiss innocent citizens.” He emphasized that this administration is the first in Liberia’s history to conduct such extensive dismissals so early in its term.

Noah argued that these actions indicate the government is not acting in the interest of the Liberian people. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving his constituents in the House of Representatives, highlighting his efforts to fulfill campaign promises. Within six months, Noah provided L$5 million as a revolving fund to the women of Sinoe, interest-free, as part of his electoral promises.

The representative noted that he returned to his constituents after the election to thank them and to reassess ongoing projects. Among his initiatives, Noah mentioned the construction of a multi-purpose office in his district, a first in Sinoe County’s history, intended to provide office space for every organization in the district.

Noah also revealed that during a recent legislative function in Ethiopia, he met an investor interested in investing in Sinoe County, potentially bringing job opportunities to the area. Additionally, he outlined his plans to open vocational schools and his contributions to the health sector, including purchasing an ambulance for the district.

Having defeated eleven other candidates in the legislative election, Noah, the former Port Manager of Greenville Port in Sinoe County, continues to focus on development and service to his constituents. He stressed that his mission is to work for the betterment of Sinoe County, not for personal gain.
