MONROVIA, LIBERIA — The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has reached a historic milestone, surpassing its 2024 fiscal revenue target of $690 million. With $692 million already confirmed and an additional $10 million pending reconciliation, the total collection is expected to exceed $700 million, setting a new record for the country.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the LRA headquarters in Paynesville, Commissioner General Dorbor Jallah described the achievement as a triumph of determination and teamwork. He credited the success to the unwavering support of taxpayers and the coordinated efforts of various stakeholders involved in revenue collection.
“This accomplishment reflects the dedication and innovation of taxpayers across Liberia’s 15 counties,” Jallah remarked, highlighting their critical role in driving the year’s success. He also expressed gratitude to government ministries, agencies, and international partners for their contributions to this financial feat.
As the LRA prepares for 2025, Jallah emphasized the importance of sustaining this momentum through improved compliance and timely tax payments. He outlined plans to introduce digital platforms designed to streamline tax processes and enhance overall efficiency. “These tools will make compliance easier and more effective for everyone,” he noted, encouraging public engagement with the forthcoming systems.
Jallah further stressed the value of partnerships at all levels—local, national, and international as key to achieving even greater milestones. “Accountability and transparency must continue to guide our revenue administration practices,” he affirmed, reinforcing the importance of trust and collaboration in the LRA’s mission.
While celebrating the 2024 revenue performance, the Commissioner General underscored the need to view this milestone as a foundation for future progress. He urged Liberians to embrace the opportunity to strengthen the nation’s financial independence and meet its developmental goals.
“This success is a collective victory, but it’s also a call to action for even greater achievements,” Jallah stated, appealing to all stakeholders to remain committed as the country aims to break new records and set higher benchmarks in 2025.
