NOT EVERYONE FINDS LOVE

Date:

A poem written by Olando Testimony Zeongar

Some find their knight in shining armor with so much ease

Others try fruitlessly even while enduring so much pain and dare not cease

But most times their efforts blow up in vain and go in breeze

Some kiss just one frog and find the love of their life

Others kiss a thousand or more and get hurt as if it was done with a knife

Many a time, the search for love is traveled on a bumpy road filled with strife

We are told not to give up on love

But the truth is, love gives up on us, and drops us way below far from above

Countless romantic pangs often beg the question of the existence of true love

Like a brutal boxer, love batters

Hearts, often than not it shatters

Most times it flatters

Attempts upon attempts, some never get close to finding that special someone

Ending up with just anyone

Which is in a sense better than being with no one

Love is a beautiful thing, but not everyone finds it

Caught on the wrong side, please move on and don’t mournfully sit

This is a cruel world; you win some and lose some, but concede when badly hit.
