“WE ARE WORKING SIXTY DAYS TO GET A MONTH’S SALARY”, CRIMINAL COURT ‘C’ JUDGE LAMENTS

LIBERIA – Criminal Court “C” Judge, Blamoh Dixon has lamented the painful condition in which judiciary staff work, with continued salaries delay.

Judge Blamoh Dixon said: “We are working sixty days to get a month’s salary that cannot be paid in full, and only receive twenty percent in forty-five days.”

Judge Dixon says the delay in the disbursement of salaries at the Judiciary is painful.

Judge Dixon also frowned on the reduction of salaries affecting bailiffs, messengers, and cleaners.

He noted that the Financial Autonomy Act of the Judiciary Branch of the Liberian Government is being grossly violated by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

Judge Dixon said: “The situation has gone worse to the extent that our motivations have declined.”

Judge Blamo Dixon made the statement recently when he delivered his charge at the opening of Criminal Courts A, B, C, and D for the November Term at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
