PRESIDENT BOAKAI CALLS FOR UNITY AS LIBERIAN MUSLIMS BEGIN RAMADAN

Date:

As Muslims across Liberia observe the Holy Month of Ramadan, President Joseph Boakai has called on all Liberians to embrace unity and collective responsibility for the nation’s progress.

In a message marking the beginning of Ramadan, President Boakai extended his best wishes to the Muslim community and reflected on the spiritual significance of the holy season. He recognized Ramadan as a time of deep reflection, prayer, and fasting, which, he said, strengthens spiritual awareness and fosters a sense of community.

President Boakai stressed that while the observance of Ramadan is a religious obligation for Muslims, its spiritual benefits extend to the entire nation. He emphasized that faith in a higher power is a shared value that unites Liberians despite their cultural and religious differences. He urged all citizens to reflect on their common heritage and work together to promote peace and national cohesion.

Reflecting on the interconnectedness of Liberian society, the President highlighted how the experiences of one group inevitably affect others. He called for greater understanding and collaboration, encouraging all citizens to embrace their collective responsibility to build a more united nation.

President Boakai also urged the Muslim community to use the holy season to pray for Liberia’s peace and development. He called on all Liberians, regardless of faith, to commit themselves to strengthening national unity and fostering a spirit of cooperation.

He concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous Liberia. Expressing his hope for a successful and reflective Ramadan, he called on all Liberians to work together under the guiding principle to “Think Liberia, Love Liberia, and Build Liberia.”
