MONROVIA – United States Ambassador to Liberia, Mark Toner, on Tuesday delivered an inspiring address to the graduating students of the Linda Thomas Greenfield Preparatory School, located at the Edward Binyah Kesselly (EBK) Barracks outside Monrovia.
The occasion, held at the invitation of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), Major General Davidson Forleh, underscored the enduring partnership between the United States and Liberia, particularly in the realm of military cooperation and educational advancement. The school is named in honor of former U.S. Ambassador to Liberia and current U.S. diplomat, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a symbol of commitment to Liberia’s democratic and educational progress.
Speaking to the graduates, Ambassador Toner encouraged them to emulate the values and perseverance that have defined Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield’s distinguished career. “Study diligently and work hard,” he told the students, “so you can achieve what you want in life.”
The ceremony served as a testament to the close bilateral relationship between the United States and the Armed Forces of Liberia, with education and leadership development at the center of their shared priorities.
Ambassador Toner’s visit to the EBK Barracks and his message to the students highlighted the importance of academic discipline, public service, and international friendship in shaping the next generation of Liberian leaders.
