Newly inducted Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh says the Supreme Court will not subscribe to interference and threatened to deal with unethical legal practitioners.
Justice Yuoh pledged to protect the Constitution and indiscriminately dispense justice with the support of her colleagues.
She stated that the Supreme Court will not subscribe to interference by the ‘power that be’ or any other branch of the Liberian government.
Delivering her charge during the official opening of the October Term of the Court, Chief Justice Youh pointed out that the Supreme Court is determined to dispense blind justice without fear or favor in consonance with the country’s 1986 Constitution; while urging lawyers to desist from filing unnecessary motions which have the propensity to delay justice or hang justice in the court system.
She called on judges and magistrates to attach seriousness to the Judicial Canoes 5 in dispensing blind justice to persons coming before their respective courts.
