UL STUDENTS CHASE CLLR. SAYMAH SYRENIUS CEPHUS OUT UL CAMPUS – CALL HIM A ROGUE

Date:

Liberia – Cllr. Saymah Syrenius Cephus, a former government official in the Weah-led administration was today chased out by students of the University of Liberia’s main campus on Capitol Hill, Monrovia. Cllr. Cephus was chased apparently for his alleged involvement in public corruption.

When the students recognized Cllr. Cephus’ vehicled approaching the campus, the students in no time surrendered the former Solicitor General’s vehicle with boos; calling him a rogue as he drove further on the campus. The student’s action forced the former Solicitor to drive away worriedly, and not accomplish his mission…

It can be recalled in August of last year, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated Sayma Syrenius Cephus, and two others, Nathaniel McGill, and Bill Twehway for their involvement in ongoing public corruption in Liberia.

In Cephus’ public corruption, the OFAC said: “Sayma Syrenius Cephus (Cephus) is the current Solicitor General and Chief Prosecutor of Liberia. Cephus has developed close relationships with suspects of criminal investigations and has received bribes from individuals in exchange for having their cases dropped. Cephus has worked behind the scenes to establish arrangements with subjects of money laundering investigations to cease investigations in order to personally benefit financially.

“He shields money launderers and helps clear them through the court system and has intimidated other prosecutors in an attempt to quash investigations. Cephus has also utilized his position to hinder investigations and block the prosecution of corruption cases involving members of the government.

“Cephus has been accused of tampering with and purposefully withholding evidence in cases involving members of opposition political parties to ensure conviction. Cephus is being designated for being a foreign person who is a current government official who is responsible for or complicit in, or who has directly or indirectly engaged in, corruption, including the misappropriation of state assets, the expropriation of private assets for personal gain, corruption related to government contracts or the extraction of natural resources, or bribery.”

  1. SUP MUST BE STOPPED!
SUP is a violent maxist’s belief of academic terriorism

Either a weak university administration is conding its thuggery or the central government is paying no attention!

Drastic steps must be taken such as expulsions and suspensions to curtail SUP’s menance!
For the safety of our society government must shut down the UL until othwise orderded!
Universities around the world has a strong police presence with firmer academic and discipline policies, why the UL is an exception?

The UL must institute a zero policy for militancy! The UL must be de-militanized; the level of rudeness at the UL is disgraceful for a country!

SUP has lost relevance owing to the democratizarion of Liberia!

SUP is responsible for many of Liberia’s upheveals , SUP is on record for provoking anarchy in Liberia’s body politics, it has been responsible for many innocent student deaths in Libetian crisies notably to include the 1979 Rice Riot, the 1984 Students Massaacre!

Liberia has receeded the age of mimitary tyranism that was the era of tyranism..

As a nation, government must ensure that the UL is not a state in a state!
