In Philadelphia, former Vice President of Liberia and current standard bearer of the Unity Party, Joseph N. Boakai, held a successful fundraising event on Thursday. The event was organized to support the work of the Joseph Nyuma Boakai Foundation, which was established in 2018 to improve the living conditions of Liberians, particularly those in rural areas.
The fundraiser was attended by a large number of Liberians residing in Pennsylvania who came together at the Sudanese American Community Center to show their support for Boakai’s cause. During the ceremony, attendees expressed their admiration for Boakai and his work through the Foundation, which focuses on agriculture production, food security, healthcare service delivery, education, youth development, access to safe drinking water, and environmental protection.
Boakai thanked the US-based Liberians for their support and encouraged them to continue their efforts. He also asked other Liberians to follow suit and join him in his quest to bring about positive change in the country.
At the end of the event, Boakai was met with cheers and applause from the attendees who requested photos with him. He took the opportunity to ask for their support in the upcoming elections, stating that his administration would bring about a much-needed change in Liberia.
The successful fundraising event is a testament to the unwavering support that Boakai receives from his fellow Liberians, both at home and abroad, and his commitment to improving the lives of his fellow citizens. By William Lloyd
