POLICE INVESTIGATE SEVERAL DEATHS IN RIVER GEE AND BONG COUNTIES

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has begun investigating several unexplained deaths and criminal cases in River Gee and Bong Counties respectively.

According to reports, police in River Gee County have begun probing the killing of a man only identified as Morris. Morris, believed to be in his late 30s was recently seen in a video, tied, flogged, and dragged on a motorcycle and was subsequently discovered dead between Fish Town and Kanweaken; some people alleged that he was a criminal, yet the act performed that many believed led to his death / how he was killed was condemned by Senator Conmany B. Wesseh of River Gee County.

Also reports from Gbarnga, Bong County says, the Liberia National Police has charged and forwarded to court nine persons in connection with the death of a 21-year-old, Oldman.

Accordingly, police preliminary investigation, victim Samuel Mulbah was discovered dead in Jor Creek with his hands tied on February 22, 2023 by some dwellers of Saybey’s Town in Yandiwon Clan, Jorquelleh District#:2.

Speaking to journalists in a press conference early Tuesday, Police Commander John Kellenso Flomo, of the Crime Services Division at the Liberia National Police – Bong Detachment disclosed that the Town Chief of Saybey’s Town and his deputy admitted ordering several youths of the area to arrest and tie the victim for allegedly assaulting a man identified as Saturday Kerkulah.

They alleged that Saturday Kerkulah was seen lying unconsciously and bleeding after being flogged by Samuel Mulbah; the allege suspects admitted arresting and tying the victim but denied throwing him in the Jor Creek.

The nine culprits alleged that Samuel voluntarily jumped in the creek while crossing him to the next town in a locally made ferry at about 7pm, but felt reluctant to recuse him due to darkness; they were charged with the crimes of murder and criminal conspiracy.
