Liverpool somehow escaped with a point after Chelsea’s goal-shy attack again failed in a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge. The game, a meeting of the Premier League’s two biggest underachievers this season, was suitably mediocre, but the Blues will wonder how they didn’t come away with the win after squandering a host of chances and seeing two goals disallowed.
Reece James and Kai Havertz were both denied after VAR checks, while Havertz and Mateo Kovacic spurned glorious opportunities to give caretaker boss Bruno Saltor a winning start to his reign.
Liverpool, on the other hand, created precious little, and though the result represents an improvement on Saturday’s thrashing at Manchester City, they leave having failed to make any notable ground in the race for the top four. Source: goal.com
