SERVIX LAUNCHES TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM IN CALDWELL

MONROVIA – A newly established vocational institute, Servix Professional Institute over the weekend launched its technical and vocational skill training program in the township of Caldwell, Montserrado County.

The launch was an expression to introduction to communities Servix Professional Institute operates as well as the counties and the country at large.

Speaking to Smart News Liberia during the launch, the program director of Sevix, Mr. Monina Peters disclosed that the institution is an outspring of the Servix Group – a Multi-Services/Professional Institute.

According to Peters, the launch was also an introduction intended to spread out to the public, especially the inhabitants of Caldwell that Servix is running a technical and vocational skill training program as well as the mode they used to have young people enroll at the institution which he labeled “tuition free initiative”.

Accordingly, he said the tuition-free initiative has brought over 200 beneficiaries mostly young girls and women, and vulnerable…

Mr. Peters disclosed further that Servix offers 17 vocational and technical skill training programs that include tie-dye, tailoring, plumbing, electricity, etc…

Disclosing that in February of this year, the institution began its first circle; and they’re hoping in the future to expand beyond the communities operating in Montserrado County.

“As it stands, we are excited today to launch the Servix Professional Institute Technical and Vocational Training Program, subsequently we will launch other programs,” Peter disclosed happily.

He also used the occasion to call on partners to support Servix’s initiatives which he said intended to empower young people to be self-reliant, and self-sufficient.

The program director indicated that empowering young people will enable them to contribute to national economic growth and development, adding, “This is our goal; and we are resolved to target many young persons as possible to benefit from the initiative.

He continued: “Yes, it is our goal. And it is possible for all young persons in Caldwell and nearby communities desirous and motivated to acquire the professional vocational and technical skill to come and enroll at Servix for a very affordable cost – which is at almost free cost…”

He explained that the vocational circle runs for three months because of the fundamental to the respective course of discipline offer which he said makes it a three months requirement.

“We pray for the involvement of partners to enable us to expand from three to six months to enable us to give professional certificates for the code discipline. But for now, for the three months, Servix gives beginners certificates for the circle which he said comes to an end on July 29, 2023,” Peters said.

The program director explained that Servix’s vocational and technical skill training program is a national initiative that is intended to support young people and to reduce illegal activities as well as poverty and by extension create employment based on what the beneficiaries have acquired.

In conclusion, Peters disclosed that Servix is making all the necessary efforts to meet up with Ministry of Youth Sports requirements which will qualify his institution for the Ministry’s program.

Meanwhile, the launching began with a parade on the principal street of Caldwell and climaxed with an indoor program at the Watta Allison Town Hall, opposite Dixville Junction, Caldwell.
