CCC WELCOMES DR. ABARE KALLAH TO LIBERIA

Date:

LIBERIA – The Concerned Christian Community (CCC) has welcomed OMNIA’s Leadership Team Leader in Nigeria Rev. Dr. Abare Yunusa Kallah to Liberia.

Dr. Kallah is an ordained minister in the ECWA tradition, he is the current Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Northeast Region, and one of Nigeria’s leading peace activists. He arrived in Liberia on Sunday, October 23.

The clergyman who is representing the OMNIA Institute for Contextual Leadership is in the country to hold discussions with stakeholders and as well conduct training of over 50 peacemakers in rural communities of Western Liberia.

OMNIA which was established in 1976 as an institution that focuses on helping counter religious extremism and religion-based oppression, domination, and violence, has trained over 4000 peacemakers around the world, who are organized into Interfaith Peacemaker Teams.

CCC is convinced that achieving this goal of establishing “Interfaith Peacemaker Teams” in local communities will greatly help undermine acts of violence in Liberia’s general electoral, political and communal activities and the overall peace, security and stability of the country.
