€100 MILLION PLAYER REJECTS CHANCE TO JOIN REAL MADRID

Date:

Real Madrid have been linked with a number of big name players in recent months. It remains to be seen what the future holds though, as it has been a while since Los Blancos splashed out in the summer transfer window. But at the same time, one cannot also deny that this team is in clear need of reinforcements at this point of time.

One of the stars that Real Madrid have been linked with recently is Rafael Leao. The Portuguese player has emerged as a superstar at AC Milan in recent years.

Leao is believed to be rated at €100 million. But his current deal runs out in the summer of 2024. Other than Real Madrid, Chelsea have also been linked with him. Yet, it looks like his future might lie in Italy.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), Leao has snubbed Chelsea and Real Madrid and wants to continue with AC Milan.

Leao is already established as a nailed on starter at AC Milan. The Portuguese international has been one of the club’s best players in some time. He played a key part in their Serie A triumph last season and their run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals this time around, where they will take on Inter Milan in a blockbuster tie.

When it comes to Real Madrid, there are question marks over where Leao would fit in. The club already have a similar player in the form of Vinicius Junior, who is undroppable right now.

When it comes to Chelsea, they are undergoing their worst campaign of this century and look set to finish outside the Premier League top 10. Thus, it is not hard to understand why Leao might be very reluctant to go there at this point of time. So, extending his deal with AC Milan does make sense for him. Source: therealchamps.com
