EMMANUEL GONQUOI STEPS DOWN FROM ASSETS RECOVERY TEAM

Date:

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – In a surprising move, Emmanuel Gonquoi, the Commander in Chief (CIC) of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL), has announced his decision to step down from the Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Code Team. Gonquoi submitted his official letter of resignation to the office of the President, expressing gratitude and reaffirming his commitment to President’s agenda and Liberia’s progress.

Gonquoi, in his letter, expressed deep appreciation to the President for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving on the Assets Recovery Code Team. He acknowledged the President’s unwavering trust in his leadership abilities and affirmed his continued dedication to the President’s agenda, both as the leader of EFFL and as a devoted son of Liberia.

It can be recalled following the issuance of Executive Order No. 126, which established the Office of Assets Recovery, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai announced the members of the Assets Recovery & Property Retrieval Core Team. This team is expected to lead the efforts to locate, recover, and retrieve public resources and properties.

However, while the precise reasons for Gonquoi’s departure from the team were not explicitly stated, his resignation is a significant development. As the Commander in Chief of EFFL, Gonquoi has been a prominent figure in the political landscape, championing the cause of economic freedom and advocating for a better Liberia. His decision to step down from the Assets Recovery Code Team raises questions about the future direction and focus of his efforts.

Despite his departure from the team, Gonquoi made it clear in his letter that his commitment to the President’s agenda and his love for Liberia remain steadfast. He assured the President that he would continue to support and align himself with the vision of building a better Liberia. Gonquoi emphasized the importance of collective action and collaboration in achieving this goal, urging unity in thinking for Liberia’s progress.

The EFFL Commander in Chief’s resignation from the Assets Recovery Code Team is likely to have implications within the EFFL and the broader political landscape of Liberia. As a leader known for his strong stance on economic issues, his decision might indicate a shift in priorities or a strategic decision to focus his efforts elsewhere.

The Assets Recovery Team, responsible for investigating and recovering public assets, will undoubtedly need to fill the void left by Gonquoi’s departure. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring accountability and transparency within the government, making it imperative to have capable and dedicated individuals in its ranks.

As Liberia continues its path towards development and progress, the resignation of Emmanuel Gonquoi from the Assets Recovery Code Team marks a new chapter for him and his role within the EFFL. While the details of his decision remain undisclosed, his letter of resignation reflects his unwavering commitment to President’s agenda and his dedication to working together for the betterment of Liberia. It remains to be seen what lies ahead for Gonquoi and how his departure will shape the political landscape moving forward.
