HOUSE INVITES MINISTRY OF STATE AND FINANCE TO REPORT ON FUNDS USED FOR RECENT TRAVELS OF PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT

Date:

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – During a session on Tuesday, Representative Yeke Kolubah raised concerns about the lack of transparency and accountability in the travel expenses of the two ministers. He questioned the purpose of the trips and the amount of money spent, calling for a detailed report to be presented to the House.

In response to the concerns raised by Representative Kolubah of Montserrado District Number 10, the House Plenary unanimously agreed to summon the Ministers of State and Finance to provide a full account of the travel expenses incurred by President Boakai and Minister Koung. The House also requested a breakdown of the purpose of the trips and the benefits they brought to the country.

The House emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in government spending, especially when it comes to official trips made by high-ranking officials. They stressed the need for proper documentation and justification for the use of public funds.

The Ministers of State and Finance are expected to appear before the House next week to provide the requested information and address the concerns raised by Representative Kolubah. The House has made it clear that they will not tolerate any misuse or mismanagement of public funds and will hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
