LDEA ARRESTS SUSPECT FOR POSSESSION, INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE NARCOTICS

Date:

GRAND BASSA CO., LIBERIA – Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) have arrested a 35-year-old Liberian man, Prince Bee, in connection with the illegal possession and intended distribution of narcotic substances in Grand Bassa County.

The arrest took place around 6:15 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Timbo Checkpoint during a routine inspection. LDEA agents discovered 15 plastic bags of the synthetic drug Kush and a plate of marijuana in Bee’s possession.

Authorities estimate the street value of the seized drugs at LRD 67,500, with Kush valued at LRD 37,500 and marijuana at LRD 30,000.

Following the arrest, Bee was formally charged with unlicensed possession, distribution, and attempted sale of controlled drugs, offenses under Liberia’s amended drug laws. He, along with the confiscated substances, has been handed over to the judicial system for prosecution.

The LDEA reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse nationwide, calling on citizens to actively report drug-related activities in their communities to help protect public safety.
