LIBERIA: CLLR. TIAWAN GONGLOE’S AGGRESSIVE PUSH AHEAD OF OCTOBER 2023…

Date:

A Patriot’s Diary

With Ekena Nyankun Juahgbe-Droh Wesley

The road to October 10, 2023, is undoubtedly tumultuous! The stakes remain compelling. Like they say, everyone wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. Liberia’s vast 43,000sq/miles of territory would require resilience and tenacity to cover amid poorly inaccessible rough terrains. For many unserious political actors, there might be so much time on their hands. They are mistaken. We are a heartbeat away from October 10, 2023.

October 10 marks a day when the good people of Liberia will decide their own fate. A moment, when they shall decide their destiny. A crucial time to make the right choice in order to change the course of history. The people’s political future would be in their own hands. An opportunity to change the trajectory for the better. Either they stand to become victims of their own actions or save the state and create a new atmosphere for a better Liberia.

As the jostle for the Executive Mansion hangs in the balance, so far, there is just one person who has unwittingly demonstrated the zest, courage passion and patriotism to change the course of history for his dear country. He is none other than veteran Human Rights Lawyer and an unrepentant social justice advocate, Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe.

Amid a proven cum impeccable public record occasioned by transparency, accountability, commitment to the rule of law, we can safely say – a bleeding country like Liberia can only find hope and undiluted solace in long time progressive wit and an uncompromising human rights icon, Cllr. Tiawan Gongloe to set the country on the course of ‘A Better Liberia Agenda.’

In the last couple of months, Cllr. Gongloe has bent backwards and forwards to crisscross the country including some of the remotest and inconveniently inaccessible parts of the country. Cllr. Gongloe believes if Liberians are to make him their next elected President, they all – irrespective of where they find themselves – must have an opportunity to listen to his message of hope and political redemption.

From Cape Palmas to Cape Mount, Cllr. Gongloe wasted no time reaching the good people of Liberia he so deserves to liberate politically and socioeconomically. Whether it is forested Grand Gedeh or the rocky plains of Gbarpolu, Lofa and Nimba – he trekked – rode motorbikes and drove to meet, engage and convey his message of hope to mainly impoverished Liberians.

Cllr. Gongloe has remained undeterred by the cliché associated with Liberia’s southeast – often referred to as most deprived in terms of accessible road connectivity. The entire country is in a state of deprivation. Vivid photos went viral on social media as Cllr. Gongloe was seen tucked in muddy roads from Grand Gedeh to River Gee as far as Maryland in order to communicate his message of revival, a united country, a reconciled people, and an open and transparent government that he considers doable and his commitment to the rule of law, good governance and accountability.

The integrity icon might not be inundated with countless fleet of four-wheel drive trucks to impress the masses, but his sense of altruism and love for country transcends reaching the very remote villages and towns, which speak volume. The quest for A Better Liberia is not one of showmanship, which contradicts the beliefs and philosophy of Liberia’s internationally respected integrity icon, Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe.

What manner of man is Cllr. Gongloe, who in spite of an elaborately run campaign, remains unreservedly determined to put the people he wants to lead at the heart of his urge to ensure A Better Liberia is Possible. Cllr. Gongloe believes with sound economic policies, Liberians become beneficiaries of a transformative era of innovations, creativity and productivity. With soil fertility at our advantage, Cllr. Gongloe seeks to prioritize agriculture by making Liberia self-sufficient in food production. Cllr. Gongloe holds true with a burgeoning economy, health care and education would be hugely supported through the national budget.

Without doubt, the success of any government would rest with its ability to responsibly account for public resources. Corruption shall have not place in Cllr. Tiawan Gongloe’s administration. His visits throughout the length and breadth of the country has been about assuring Liberians that they cannot give up despite the difficulties and frustrations they face. Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe might not be that ‘Messiah’ but he is the beacon of hope for a future that promises A Better Liberia for all no matter one’s creed, ethnicity, or religion.

Cllr. Gongloe is that person we can all trust to make the promised land achievable. The ball is in the court of the electorate to vote Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe for President of Liberia!
