LIBERIA: PRESIDENT JOSEPH BOAKAI ANNOUNCES KEY APPOINTMENTS IN FIRST MOVE AS PRESIDENT

MONROVIA – President Joseph Boakai wasted no time in making his mark on the government, as he announced his first round of appointments since assuming office today. The newly appointed officials are expected to play crucial roles in shaping the future of Liberia under President Boakai’s leadership.

Boima Kamara, a seasoned economist and financial expert, has been appointed as the Minister of Finance and Development Planning. With his extensive experience in the field, Kanara is a former finance minister under Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, is expected to bring stability and growth to Liberia’s economy, which has been severely impacted.

Gregory Coleman, a highly respected law enforcement professional, has been named the Inspector General of Police. Coleman’s appointment comes at a critical time when the nation is grappling with rising crime rates and the need for effective law enforcement. His vast experience in the field especially as former police director, is expected to bring a renewed sense of security to the Liberian people.

Samuel Kofi Woods, a prominent human rights lawyer and activist, has been appointed as the National Security Advisor. Sylvester Grisgby, a seasoned public servant, has been appointed as the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs.
