GRAND GEDEH COUNTY – An office belonging to the National Traditional Council in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County was set ablaze early Tuesday morning by unknown men following the death of electoral district 1 representative-elect Erol Madison Gwion.
The lawmaker, according to sources, died Tuesday morning following a brief illness.
The death of the lawmaker, according to our correspondent has bred tension which led an angry crowd taking to the streets in protest of the death of Gwion – alleging that Gwion’s death is not natural. Some of the protesters told our correspondent that there are people in the county who are responsible for the death of Gwion – and they want justice.

The protest action has forced businesses to close as tension mounts.
Erol Madison Gwion, the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Representative, according to family sources, succumbed to a lingering illness earlier this morning.
The Grand Gedeh Representative was re-elected on October 10, 2023, to serve his district for another six years.
The late lawmaker was elected 2020 in by-election to replace Senator, Zoe Emmanuel Penney.
