MOCI ANNOUNCES NO CHANGE IN GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL PRICES

Date:

MONROVIA – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), in collaboration with the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), confirmed that the ceiling prices for gasoline (PMS) and fuel oil (AGO) will remain unchanged as of April 8, 2025. The decision was made following a review and comes after a public announcement by MOCI on April 7, 2025.

According to the latest information, the wholesale price for gasoline is set at $3.68 per gallon, with the retail pump price at $3.96, or LD 790.00. Similarly, fuel oil is priced at $3.98 wholesale, with retail prices pegged at $4.26, or LD 850.00 per gallon. The exchange rate used for these prices is LD 198.82 to USD 1.00, as determined by the Central Bank of Liberia.

The MOCI and LPRC have pledged to actively monitor the fuel market, ensuring strict adherence to the approved ceiling prices. Both entities emphasized their commitment to preventing any unauthorized price hikes and promoting fair market competition. The Ministry also stated that it will work closely with importers and retailers to ensure that Liberians are not subjected to unfair pricing practices.
