NIGERIAN NATIONAL ARRESTED AT BO WATERSIDE WITH COCAINE WORTH OVER $126,000

Date:

LIBERIA – Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) at the Bo Waterside Border Entry have arrested a Nigerian national, David Dioumessy, in possession of 2,349 grams of cocaine valued at USD 126,846. The incident occurred on February 8, 2025.

Dioumessy, 44, was traveling from Guinea using an ECOWAS passport when he attempted to evade a routine security search. According to LDEA officers, he fled from the designated warehouse where inspections are conducted on incoming travelers and vehicles. He was quickly apprehended and brought in for questioning.

During the initial inquiry, Dioumessy claimed to have only one piece of luggage. However, a thorough investigation uncovered an additional suitcase on a vehicle with plate number AVQ 743. Upon inspection, authorities discovered 2.34 kilograms of cocaine concealed inside. A body search further revealed two tubes of the illegal substance hidden in his underwear, adding another 53 grams to the total haul.

Dioumessy has been transferred to the LDEA Investigation Section for further questioning and will face prosecution. The LDEA has reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring border security as part of its ongoing efforts to protect Liberia from illegal narcotics.
