OUTRAGE AS 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL BRUTALLY TIED AND BEATEN BY UNCLE IN LOFA COUNTY

LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA – A shocking drama unfolded in Lofa County on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, when a teenage girl, identified only as Love T., was mercilesslų beaten by her uncle, who chillingly referred to himself as “No Where To Escape From 5abebo.” The horrific incident, captured in a viral Facebook video, shows the 15-year-old tied up and dragged through the forest as her uncle and bystanders looked on.

The disturbing video depicts the uncle tying Love T.’s hands with rubber before pulling her through the bush, eventually binding her to a tree with her arms stretched painfully upward. As the qirl pleaded for mercy, her uncle declared, “This woman is a notorious criminal,” accusing her of stealing wires. “I want to teach her a lesson,” he continued, instructing a cameraman to record the Scene. “From this, she will never steal again. I will train this woman.”

Despite Love T.’s desperate cries, “I will not do it again, I will not do it again,” her uncle relentlessly continued his abuse. At one point, he called for more rubber to tie her feet and threatened anyone who intervened, vowing to treat them the same way he was treating his niece.

The brutal video has sparked outrage across Liberia and in the diaspora. Many Liberians, both at home and abroad, have taken to social media to condemn the inhumane treatment of the young girl. King Smith commented, “You have to take her to the police station.” Matthew D. Kerkula echoed the sentiment, saying, “This is totallų unacceptable.” Yahaya Talata Sheriff added, “This is totally uncalled for. They should all be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Josephine Mulbah Akoi expressed her disbelief, writing, “You have absolutelų no right to treat someone Like this. All of you need to be arrested. This is Wrong. Are you guys really human beings?”
