The Chairman of the Patriotic Entrepreneurs of Liberia has called for inclusive decision-making concerning the Liberian business community. Mr. Dominic Nimely blamed the national legislature for strangulating Liberian-owned businesses.
Dominic Nimely accused the legislature of not being in the interest of Liberian businesses. He made the statement at a news conference in Monrovia over the weekend.
The PATEL Chairman alleged that over the years, the legislature has not excised its oversight responsibilities at relevant institutions responsible for the day-to-day running of the country’s economy as well as protecting the rights of Liberian businesses.
Dominic Nimely also accused Commercial banks of giving Liberians loans with high-interest rates which he said is a primary factor undermining the growth of Liberian businesses.
According to him, business people are not part of decision-making processes regarding the Liberian business community, rather it is the legislature and other government ministries and agencies that imposed decisions on business people.
