REP. GAHR PURCHASES EARTH-MOVING EQUIPMENT FOR ROAD MAINTENANCE

Date:

LIBERIA – Margibi County District #5 Representative Clarence Gahr has fulfilled a key campaign promise by purchasing two brand-new earth-moving machines to improve road conditions in his district.

Speaking to journalists over the weekend after making the final payment, Representative Gahr expressed his deep satisfaction in acquiring the equipment, which includes a bulldozer and a motor grader. He emphasized that this investment was crucial for maintaining the district’s roads, particularly during the rainy season when heavy downpours make many routes impassable, hindering transportation and economic activities.

“The purchasing of these two pieces of yellow machines is a dream being fulfilled, as I promised my people during the 2023 general and presidential elections,” Gahr said. “After going through thick and thin, I am deeply gratified to have made this a reality for our district.”

The lawmaker highlighted that this was the first time in the district’s history that such equipment had been acquired, marking a significant milestone. He underscored his commitment to improving infrastructure through advocacy and lobbying efforts at the National Legislature.

“We were elected by our people to bring relief, and in doing so, it takes immense sacrifice to ensure that they get what they deserve,” he noted.

The total cost of the two machines is estimated at over $300,000. Gahr assured his constituents that the equipment would be deployed immediately to ensure year-round road accessibility, easing transportation challenges and boosting local development.
